Protect Your Heart

“Protect Your Heart ” was STAYU’s first collection idea that came to life. I liked the look of powerful phrases on graphics and designs, so I jotted down every phrase that came to mind. I didn’t LOVE any of them until “Protect Your Heart ” popped into my mind. Growing up, my mom told me every chance she got to protect my heart. Through relationships, friendships, jobs, you name it, if she saw me put my heart into anything, she wanted to remind me. Despite her constant reminders, I did the exact opposite. I put my heart into things that didn’t deserve it and gave my heart to individuals who didn’t treat it for what it was worth. It wasn’t long before STAYU started to evolve that I wasn’t doing a single thing to protect the heart that my mom tried so hard to remind me of. By the time “Protect Your Heart” dropped as STAYU’s first collection, I had learned the importance of what my mom had been reminding me to do for all those years. Going through times of self doubt and not knowing my worth led me to achieving my “unique” by helping me find the person I truly was and wanted to be. It being the first collection that represents a story of achieving “unique” is significant because STAYU would not be where it is in terms of ideas, passion, and creativity without the journey that “Protect Your Heart ” represents. I hope you love this collection as much as I love sharing it with you.
